Knowing that the PS3 games use Blu-ray discs, have you ever wondered about popping in one of your game discs into a Blu-ray drive on your PC to see if you could read it? Since Blu-ray drives are still really expensive, probably not. Even if you did have one it wouldn’t do much good, unless you had a Lite-ON DH-401S that is.

That’s right, someone has discovered that this specific drive has the uncanny ability to read PS3 Blu-ray discs. Just pick up one of these bad boys and you’ll be playing PS3 games on your PC in no time. All you have to do is figure out a way to get your computer to actually play the games. That’s just a minor detail, right?
No, you won’t likely be playing PS3 games on your PC anytime soon, but I’m sure hackers everywhere are rejoicing at being one step closer. Perhaps they’ll find a way to extract useful data, or somehow make copies using this drive. That’s not really my cup of tea, but if you’re a hardcore hacker, you might consider picking one up.

WOW.. I’m the first… Anyways, I hope the hackers can find a way to copy PS3 games. Not that I want to steal games from the PS3 but I already (kids did it)scratched 2 PS3 games and would have loved to have a backup of those games. Hackers.. please find a way to backup PS3 games into a blu-ray disc… Thanks for your many hacks in the past. PEACE!!
google “blu ray stress test” its the first youtube video… how did they manage to scratch them?
A $6 CD scratch repair kit will do the job. I often use it to repair the worn game disks I rent from Gamefly. The peeps who get the game after me should thank me!
Are you joking? Todays Pc’s can’t even emulate ps2 games properly and that console was last generation. The cell processor cannot and will not be able to be emulated using desktop cpu arhitecture, not for the next 10 years probably.
People said that about the N64 until Ultra HLE came out.
