Broad Band Initiatives:

GWB and the Energy sellers wanted Broad Band over power Lines to work, they did after a fashion but not nearly as good as promised, they did however really interfere with licensed users of radio spectrum.

BHO and LightSquared wanted this system to work over the objections of the US Air Force space command.

Both Presidents put support behind systems that violated good engineering and The LAWS OF PHYSICS.

Both systems promised to be able to serve every one, well I am the last customer out at the end of the last mile of power line. We use Cell phones, and a Sat. Dish for TV. Now look at Sprint's coverage maps they were the most visible customer that had signed up for LightSquared, do they cover every county and township in the USA? LightSquared planned on using Sprint's towers to serve N. America. There sure seems to be a lot of "NO SERVICE AREAS" on the map. No where was there disclosure of where this service would be available, just general promises.

There are laws that Attorneys argue about and "The laws of Physics", they do not always agree.

I am a Licensed Ham Operator, I know that in an Emergency 911 better work, however Cellular maps lie. However almost any where I drive I can raise another ham radio operator that can relay or patch me through to a 911 call center.

Mobile Satellite Ventures owned this spectrum permit first, they sold it to Sky Terra because they could not make their business plan work. Sky Terra actually put up more birds. They offered high asset vehicle tracking, precision GPS for Surveyors, Road construction and The New Generation GPS's for Aviation. Farmers use HA GPS for fertilizer application and spot treating in large fields. On Line Banking, Television, Radio Stations all use GPS for high accuracy timing signals.

Now here comes the rich folks, HARBINGER CAPITAL and they buy Sky Terra because of the fact that they have, An ATC license. Light Squared could care less about the other parts of Sky Terra, they want that ATC permit. So what if it is in the "weak signal part of the FCC band Plan".

So who would be to blame if your money, did not get transferred correctly or your Credit card is rejected, or the Air Plane doing an Instrument approach crashed? Light Squared bought cheap spectrum and is trying to make billions off of their purchase.
