Lightsquared's frequency licenses are for satellite communications, and were originally designated as such to prevent interference to GPS. By dragging Sprint along, laying off employees, delaying the Inmarsat payment as long as possible, I predict that they will last until April, continuing to issue press releases weekly. In April, it has been reported that Lightsquared must come up with a 1+ billion dollar loan payment. Of course no one will loan them money by which they could make that payment, and it is very remote that their lenders will give them an extension. The longer Lightsquared fights the FCC the less there will be for the lenders in bankruptcy court.

I think the lights will be turned out at Light Squared soon. The GPS interference couldnt be overcome without companies spending money. It was an awesome idea though and would have increase 4G coverage.
