Lightroom 4.3 gets HiDPI Retina update

Adobe has updated Photoshop Lightroom to suit HiDPI displays like those on Apple's Retina MacBook Pro models, the latest refresh to the graphics company's software to suit pixel-plentiful panels. Lightroom 4.3 now has HiDPI support within the Library and Develop Modules; the new version also adds support for twenty new digital cameras.

That includes the Canon EOS 6D, Nikon's D600, and the Olympus PEN E-PL5. There are also the usual bugfixes and general tweaks across the app, as you'd expect from any new update.

The new version of Lightroom comes hot on the heels of HiDPI updates for Photoshop CS6 and Illustrator CS6, which Adobe released earlier this week. The company had previously promised to bring nine apps from its Creative Suite up to speed with HiDPI - Dreamweaver, Edge Animate, Illustrator, Lightroom, Photoshop, Photoshop Touch, Prelude, Adobe Premiere Pro, and SpeedGrade – and has so far ticked off five of the boxes (as well as the preliminary Release Candidate version of Lightroom back in November).

You can find the Windows update for Lightroom here, and the Mac version here. Alternatively, Creative Cloud customers will be able to download the new version as part of their ongoing subscription.
