LG UltraWide 34-inch monitors to debut at CES 2014
Earlier this year, LG introduced some new UltraWide monitors, a category the company will be expanding soon with the debut of the UM95 at CES 2014. The UltraWide UM95 monitor measures in at 34-inches with a quite expansive 21:9 aspect ratio, though the company will also be offering a smaller version that measures 29-inches. Beyond the UM95, LG plans to showcase some other UltraWide offerings next month.
The UM95 UltraWide monitor has a resolution of 3440 x 1440 pixels, and as mentioned will be available in two sizes. In addition to that model, LG also plans two show off UM65, which will be available in 25-inch, 29-inch, and 34-inch options, all of which are said to have ergonomic designs for relevant reasons. The CES offerings will also include a showing of the 31MU95 and the 27MB85 models.
During the showcasing, LG will display its Real 4K and Color Prime technologies, as well as the UltraWide monitors' various features: color accuracy, picture quality, and the sorts. The UM95 in particular will feature Thunderbolt 2 connectivity, something that is of particular relevance for those who do work with 4K-resolution videos.
LG's IT Business Division head Hyoung-sei Park said: "LG IPS 21:9 UltraWide series was originally developed as user-centric PC monitors to enhance the computing experience, for both work and play. Our 21:9 aspect ratio monitors has proven to be a critical and commercial success and we forecast this market will continue to grow."
