I can speak for my self, I have the Optimus and had the Intercapt for a week, in Miami area the coverage is comparable with Verizon, the 3G is consistent and as fast as Verizon. I’m closing contract with Verizon, there is no reason to pay twice for the a comparable service. The phone is super responsive, fast and smooth, I has stock Froyo, which is a plus. Give it a try, it worth the time and the $25 bucks.

I wonder if and when VM will have access to 4G speeds…

Have had the Optimus V for a few days now. It’s EV-DO Rev. A and is the EXACT same speeds as any of Sprint’s EV-DO Rev. A devices. I get about 1.7Mbps down and about 600Kbps up, consistently. Works perfectly. Easily VM’s best handset yet and Froyo rocks on this thing since’s it’s stock Android. Very happy – $25 well spent each month instead of $80 with AT&T (yes, Got rid of the iPhone 4 for this without missing a single beat except the Retina display, but not willing to shell out $55 a month rent for that!).

Isn’t Virgin Mobile USA supposed to be running on Sprint’s network? I would love to hear from people how their 3G speeds and phone service reliability compare to Sprints in the same areas. It would be a very interesting comparison considering the price differences between the two companies for supposedly similar services…
