Mobile Phone contracts aren't things that any of us like, but we are willing to sign away a few years of wireless freedom to get a discount on the devices we like. If you aren’t willing to sign that contract, but still want a cool mobile phone Virgin Mobile has announced that it now has the LG Optimus V on its no-contract plans.

The handset can be picked up at Radio Shack stores and online for $149.99. Later in the month, the Optimus V will also land at other retailers where you can buy minutes and devices for Virgin Mobile already. The Optimus V runs Android and has access to the Android Market. The screen on the smartphone is 3.2-inches.

It supports WiFi and 3G connectivity and it has a 3.2MP camera with video capability. It ships with some apps pre-loaded for YouTube and Google Talk. The Optimus V has many other features and can be synced with contacts and calendars and it has a music player integrated.
