Wow. The Manufacturer of Google's ONLY flagship mobile device admitted that they had to dumb down the hardware so that Google can meet its contractual requirements to offer it exclusively on a non LTE carrier. Too bad. I am guess as to why Google does not have the clout to put Nexus up on multiple carriers when their rival, Apple finally showed up the LTE screen on at least THREE of the major carriers.

"But definitely the data caps are limited and more expensive than they are on HSPA+"

Again, no they are not, the prices are the exact same on AT&T or Verizon should one choose HSPA+ or LTE, they will charge you the same for the data.

Sorry for the mistakes. Verizon's 4G N/W keeps switching between HSPA+ and LTE but HSPA+ is preferred while calling. I know that LTE supports calling but not on all LTE Networks. But definitely the data caps are limited and more expensive than they are on HSPA+. Plus it does consume more battery life than HSPA+ though in the future it's definitely gonna be better. But still complaining about LTE is really not the deal-breaker for Nexus 4 as many people in all parts of the world still don't have LTE in their areas. Although in US, Canada, UK, and more countries there is LTE Coverage but still not as good as HSPA+. Say in an year's time, LTE will become as widespread as HSPA+ and take over HSPA+. But still for the whole world to make use of LTE, it'll take atleast a couple of years. But still, thanks for pointing out the mistakes. I'll be more careful. :)

i dunno what you're talking about. maybe you're on VERIZON. if you're using VERIZON LTE, yes some stuff might be correct but that's cuz verizon runs in different network system than AT&T or T-Mobile.... i think.
uhh..... many carriers have already started VoLTE , HD Voice , or whatever name scheme they wanted to go with.... which is basically making REGULAR PHONE CALLS over LTE network...... yes, lotta areas still have to switch back and forth between HSPA+ and LTE during using data. and not all the areas have that Voice over LTE stuff, but it does exist. although you are right about the battery life between 3G and LTE , it's not as bad as before. current NEWER phones have pretty much no difference in battery life between using 3G only and using LTE only. it's only when you go around and the phone keeps moving from 3G to LTE to 3G to LTE constantly over-using signals to change network method automatically. that's where the battery drain happens. it's not that LTE uses more power than 3G anymore.

Well, LTE doesn't support calling for which HSPA+ is used. And also there are very limited data caps on 4G Speeds so you ultimately have to resort to Wifi. And HSPA+ is much cheaper than 4G LTE and also saves a lot of battery life. Until Calling is enabled on LTE, it's really still a limited resource. So I hope that LTE blossoms in the future which will offer everything and at affordable rates. But till then HSPA+ should cater to all the daily needs. :)
