Just to clarify for anybody wondering. LG are focussing solely on their FPR (Film Pattern Retarder) passive 3D technology which does not require nor make use of 120Hz refresh rates. Certainly the current and projected future IPS technologies do not possess the pixel responsiveness to make good use of a 120Hz refresh rate anyway. This monitor is going to be a 60Hz monitor and may feature some form of 120Hz interpolation at best.

It also seems likely that the resolution will be Full HD (1920 x 1080) although LG have not been very forthcoming with such details since the pre-CES announcement. Coverage at CES were also very scant - but this could pave the way for cheaper 'Full HD' 27" IPS monitors which is an interesting development. Of course there will always be room for the WQHD (2560 x 1440) resolution but this is designed to be a relatively affordable 3D entertainment monitor in an IPS flavour.
