What's also killing LG in phones, is that the devices are usually very buggy, often have hardware problems out of the gate that are never resolved, and their build quality is generally pretty piss poor.

I don't think we'll be seeing an LG Nexus phone any time soon in the near future, until the company steps up its game. It's not just how many cores or whatever; the overall look and feel of their Android line-up is just sub-par, janky and cheap.

IMHO what is killing LG is that Samsung is managing to create a distinct look and feel for their devices and buyers are recognizing that. at the same time, LG's devices, however competent they might be, are generally playing catch up and coming across as "me too" and a bit generic.

It's clear why LG's having issues. They plan to release a dual core phone to counter a quad core phone from Samsung. That's an ingenious strategy!
I know what oem I'll not be buying my next phone from.

It's not quite *that* bad. While I've never owned an LG smartphone (had a of their couple dumbphones back in the day) I did play around with some of their last-gen Android devices.
They are not quite on par with the likes of SGSII, Galaxy Note or Galaxy Nexus but I wouldn't call the POS. Choice is always a good thing for consumers and users but I am having a hard time why someone should pick an LG device over Samsung's superior offerings.

It's good to see LG making progress toward ever nicer devices but I don't think I'll see the day when they ever manage to truly equal (let alone best) Samsung's flagship devices.
