If you’re looking for a new HDTV to hook up to LG’s new BD300 Blu-ray player and Netflix streamer, the company is hoping you won’t look much further than their 47LG90 [pdf link].  A monstrous 47-inches, the HDTV’s claim to fame is a whopping 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio aided by the local-dimming capable LED backlight.

The system, similar to that found in Samsung’s recently-announced Series 9 HDTVs, promises deeper blacks and brighter whites by selectively shutting off or boosting individual areas of backlighting.  The 47LG90 also has 120MHz motion processing, 24p Real Cinema, an 8ms response time and 500cd/m2 brightness.  Inputs include three HDMI 1.3 ports, two sets of HD component video, one S-video, one PC video input and one set of analog component video inputs.  LG also include a universal remote control.

Measuring just 5-inches deep, the LG 47LG90 is expected to hit stores in September.  It’ll be priced at $3,599.
