Help me out here, was Tom Cruise a bit crazy back when he did Minority Report?  It doesn’t really matter, the stars of the movie were the gesture-controlled display and Lexus’ sexy concept car.  The company was approached to design and build “the car of 2054″, and came up with the wacky cab-forward design you can see here.

Each was constructed from scratch, rather than being built on an existing chassis, and the detailing was obviously so good that the movie makers couldn’t bear to see it go to waste, hence its walk-on (or drive-on) part in The Island.  Now this black example could be yours, courtesy of eBay.

A couple of caveats, however.  Rather than the futuristic fuel-cell engine Lexus’ promotional material talked about powering the car, this one runs on a somewhat more mundane Chevrolet V6.  The interior is a riot of crap, too, as it was only ever seen in the background rather than being used for internal or door-open shots.

Buy it, however, and the seller - who boasts that his business is custom vehicles, but obviously doesn’t own a decent camera and tripod - will fabricate an interior of your choosing.  The best news is that it’s road-legal (in most places) and so you can overshadow other car owners at the lights.

I would love this car.  Not very practical, but damn it’s hot.  Buy It Now price is set at $88,000.
