There should be a website with all TV channels and you pay monthly fee's, such a simple idea hey! Where I live TV and Internet both come from the same residential gateway (TV box) it shares the bandwidth, My service provider even offer's a premium service, if your not watching TV your Internet get's the extra bandwidth. This idea of bandwidth being a precious commodity is just a farce.

If a network is over saturated to the point it's having slow down, at that point aren't the service providers making maximum profit $, thus allowing them to expand, to become over saturated again and then expand to make more profit and so on....

I work for a large tech company,I know the employees enough to say that most don't watch TV. What do they do then?
Single people not in relationships tend to use their desktops allot, couples will either have two PC's in there living room or a combination of computers, laptops, net books, tablets and maybe a little TV for background noise.

It is the internet that allows you to choose your own content when you want. It is the internet that allows you to turn off the advertisement and reclaim all those lost hours of life.
Now after giving up TV for almost 10 years, when I'm at friends or family or occasionally on the internet and see advertisement I feel VIOLATED.

Yep, that is why I say that cable companies need to get on board with internet TV instead of fighting it. That's where things are going, and trying to stop it will only be counterproductive.

AT&T just announced they are going to be capping broadband use. Obviously they and the other cable companies who also provide internet access are aware that people are dropping cable and getting TV off the internet ... it may get harder and harder to watch as much TV online as people are doing now.

I agree, the world is changing when it comes to TV, there is so much to watch online and with devices like the Roku box it's cheap and easy to do. The Roku has made their software open source so anyone can develop private channels. There is even a database of private channels here...
