I have had an X300 for 2 weeks and it is a serious machine. the only downside is the HD capacity which at one point was down to 4Gb - this turned out to be because it was set to back-up to itself. There is a huge amount of pre-loaded software and if anyone has suggestions on what can be deleted to free up disc space I would like to hear about it.

I don't know where you've been trying to sell one but I've sold my old X41 and T21 on eBay for a great price. They're designed to be modded and you can find tons of parts on eBay to build an older model from scratch. Check the listings that ended. You'll see how much the old one costs especially for the popular models like the X31.

I'm no mac fan but, IBM honestly makes the ugliest laptops on earth, they may be stable and solid, but seriously these things have horrible resale value, at least depends on the audience your selling to, Ive seen people trying to sell these on sites like RFD and Buysell, and well it takes a huge blow to the price otherwise poeple don't really wanna touch it.

um... every review I've seen comparing models with and without SSD storage, there has been almost no difference in battery life for a variety of reasons, so I don't know I would throw that out as fact so glibly. the main differences that seem to be documented are load times, both app and booting OS. performance and battery life both seem to be a wash at this point
