Hey Jim,

I just read their comments. I’d have to somewhat agree, although they are nitpicking. The resolution for the size is quite nice and overall I liked it. My problems were more with the brightness and colors than the pixels.

If you are a photographer you might want to aim for something with better color reproduction, although the X1 Carbon was decent. If you look closely you can see the pixels that “other site” mentioned, but only if you are seriously looking for flaws.

Not as well rounded of some of the previous ultra-portable X-series ThinkPads, I have to say. Battery life (according to most review sites) is disappointing and the chicklet keyboard just grosses me out.

I know it is a long time ago, but the X1 with 2.99 lbs is _not_ the lighest Thinkpad ever. The X40 was only 2.7 lbs, clearly less.

You write that “the display could be better”. This is a TNT, not IPS screen. In its review of the X1, Engadget came down hard on the screen quality complaining about dark rings around each pixel. The other review sites just oohed and ahhh’d about the resolution and moved on. Can you give us a more detailed discussion/comparison of the display quality. I am particularly interested in photography so it is more critical for me than most business executives for whom this seems designed.
