Lenovo LINK 32GB hands-on: mirroring Android onto Windows

Lenovo wants to make it easier to get things done on your phone, and it's making that possible with its new Lenovo LINK 32GB dongle. With this, users are able to connect their Android devices to their Windows laptop, mirroring the mobile device's display onto the Windows machine. From there, the laptop's own controls can be used to operate the Android device.

Lenovo LINK looks somewhat like a USB flash drive, and makes it a simple matter to copy files from one device to another. As well, viewing the phone or tablet's display on the larger laptop display makes it easier to do certain things like edit mobile photos without having to copy them over onto the other device.

The dongle features 32GB of storage space and measures in at 78 x 21 x 9mm. The device supports mirroring at resolutions up to 1080p, making it suitable for the higher-end smartphones out there but not entirely capable of matching the highest resolutions.

The software to run the device is available on the Google Play Store. In order to use LINK, you'll need to be running Android 5.0 or higher on your smartphone, and at least Windows 7 on your PC. Lenovo plans to release the dongle in March of next year for $39.99 USD.
