Lenovo IdeaPad U8 MID gets Windows XP dual-boot: Video demo

Lenovo's IdeaPad U8 MID usually only gets to play with its own Linux-based OS, but there's no reason why its 800MHz processor and 4.8-inch WVGA touchscreen shouldn't be stressed with Microsoft's Windows XP.  UMPC Fever forum member "ideapadu8" obviously thought so, promptly putting both XP and the aigo MID Linux OS onto his ultraportable.Video demo of XP on the IdeaPad U8 after the cut

Since the U8 lacks a hardware keyboard, not only did XP go onto the MID but Microsoft's DialKeys app too.  Provided as part of the original Origami pack, DialKeys adds two semi-transparent split-QWERTY keyboard layers onto each side of the display, and lets you hold the MID with your fingers and type with your thumbs.

The IdeaPad U8 is currently available in China, priced at around 4999 yuan ($730).  Although early prototypes included WiMAX and 3G support, the end result maxed out at integrated EDGE; for anything faster, a China Telecom USB modem was optional.
