We stream divx without much buffering. My living room and access point is 8 feet away, that also gives better connectivity to stream from my file server (connected to ethernet)

You might experience more buffering with large mkv files, should be fine with smaller one.

I would think 802.11n would be up to the task of streaming HD video as long as the graphics/CPU can keep up… what about streaming a 720P .mkv across the wireless network from another local computer?
