Last of Us Remastered PS4 release tipped for June by retailers

The Last of Us was one of the best games to hit the PS3 game console. Rumors about the game for the PS4 have been swirling for months now and a release date has finally surfaced via some retailers. Retailers Target, GameFly, and BestBuy are all listing the launch date for the game as June 20. It's worth noting that Naughty Dog and Sony haven't officially confirmed this launch date.

Word of the game shipping this summer first surfaced in an interview that an unknown Sony manager named Sercan Sulun gave in late March. All he said in that interview was that the game would hit the PS4 this summer. Earlier this month a banner for the game turned up on the Sony online store tipping pre-orders.

The catch was when you clicked that banner, you got a page not found error, and no one was able to pre-order the game. Only a day after that banner showed up, a PS4 trailer for the title surfaced giving us no glimpse of game play to show how the PS4 version will be better than the game on PS3.

It's worth noting that the June 20 launch date for The Last of Us Remastered for the PS4 is a week after E3. You can bet this game will be one of the big focuses for Naughty Dog and Sony at E3 this summer. If you missed the PS4 trailer for the game, check it out here.
