Schmidt was never incompetent. He is the guy who expanded Google’s horizons. If you remember Google was merely a search company (but a great one at that) until a few years ago. Now they are everywhere. They are into everything. They make operating systems; they make smartphones and now they have even entered the netbook territory. It was Schmidt who led them all through that.

This is a good move. Never seemed to make sense why Schmidt was holding the reigns of one of the most innovative (if not the most innovative) tech companies in the world. He’s old, stodgy, and looks like he smells like Bengay. Seriously though, he should definitely sit back on the ops/money side of things, and let Page come in and put a little “Zuckerberg” flavor back into Google (i.e. young , not-unattractive figurehead).

Off topic, is something wrong with Schmidts face? He always looked like a burn victim where his face melted into his neck to me.
