How is his familiarity with the roads relevant to the performance of a
super-car? He really went out on a limb there suggesting the driver was
less than
forthcoming with law enforcement. What a contributor!
And his post says “he claims he was only going 30 mph” when the article
clearly states
he conceded to law enforcement that “he was driving
40-50 mph”; that’s
40% wrong from the start.

A 640hp all-wheel drive lambo will easily lose traction if you hit the gas at 40mph. In this car, you can still be running in 1st up to 50 before the limiter kicks in. My guess, he punched it, if only for a second to feel it, and shifted (maybe to 2nd) and it broke loose and he lost control. My family operates a luxury car shop, I have felt high end Ferraris and Porches break lose at 60+ easily. Even having experience in some higher performance cars, they can still take you by surprise. Top it off with a cold street, andrenaline high, lack of experience, maybe some moisture on the pavement, not good. Probably all the better, $400 for an oil change. $4000 every 15,000 miles for standard mx (warranty voided if not done by authorized shop). Replacing a clutch is $5,000.

I live in the same town as this guy and I couldn’t believe he was dumb enough to wreck it that fast! He claims he was only going 30MPH but I highly doubt it! I wouldn’t want to pay the insurance on this car! I would sell it since it costs a whopping $380,000 for the car!!

A car like this is a white elephant. I tired to find out how much it cost but could not. It seems they discontinued this model in 2009. But, I did find the following about the car: Cumbersome to drive in tight areas, outrageous styling makes for outrageous visibility, roadster has a balky convertible top.

So someone wins a car that takes off like a jet fighter and too late finds out it is cumbersome to drive and has poor visibility. No wonder he spun out.

The worse thing about winning this car is the fact that the value of the vehicle is taxable income. Coupled with 8 mpg city and 13 mpg highway, there is no way I would accept this prize if I won. Taking it would mean having to find a buyer for it and I am not certain that would be possible.

I wonder if CarMax would buy it?
