In case you hadn’t heard, someone has gotten the bright idea to make a new Street Fighter movie. I’m still trying to get over the original, which featured Jean-Claude Van Damme as Guile and Gomez Adams (Raul Julia) as M. Bison. I can only hope that the all-star cast that they have lined up for the new flick is matched by a decent plot.

Kristen Kreuk/Chun-Li

If casting alone would tell you how a movie would turn out, I’d say that the new Street Fighter had a pretty decent shot. The film is said to be focusing on Chun-Li, which will be played by Kristin Kreuk (think Lana Lang from Smallville). Other notable cast memebers will be Chris Klein as Nash and Michael Clarke Duncan as Balrog.

Between the casting for this new flick and the upcoming game sequel, I’m starting to feel like it’s 1994. Lets just hope the movie isn’t half as bad as the original.
