Konica Minolta's Wearable Holographic Display

Among the many cool gadgets on display at the CEATEC in Japan this past week, is the prototype from Konica Minolta of a wearable display. Unlike previous cycloptic-visor-like versions, this one is rather lightweight and looks much like regular clear eyeglasses. It relies mainly on holographic technology, using a prism with a thickness of 3.5 millimeters and a holographic element. This brings the weight down to 27 grams. Rather than having your vision blocked by the display, you actually see through the glasses at an image that appears to float in your line of sight. Hence, you can still walk around without bumping into things while watching your favorite shows.
