Loading ...If there’s one thing I love more than pie and kicking the shins of small children, it’s Tablet PCs. And in that respect I’m like a whole lot of people for whom size - or, more accurately, the lack of it - is an indecent draw, even if I know it would have long-term implications on boring things like usability. Kohjinsha’s svelte little convertible was one such temptress, gamely beckoning us in with a compact keyboard, 7-inch screen and full PC guts, but letting us down at the last minute like a chocolate condom by failing to have a touchscreen.
All that, however, has changed.
Two new models have sashayed onto the scene, the black SA1F00V and the white SA1F00W (seriously, Kohjinsha, sort out the naming - I haven’t been this confused since I dated triplets), each of which takes the diminutive DNA of the existing models and adds a splash of touchscreen joy. Otherwise the specs are the same, which means an AMD Geode LX800 processor that can manage blogging, surfing and emailing but probably shouldn’t be your first port of call for laying down that acid-brass track you’ve always dreamt about, a pleasingly capacious 100GB hard-drive and half-gig of RAM.
The new additions to the range seem to start at around 104,800 Yen ($883).
