I have the Cruz eReader which has the Kobo reader pre-installed and runs the Android version of Overdrive (free download that works with protected epubs from my local library). The Cruz is slower, only has 4G internal and Android 2.0. However, as an eReader it is virtually equivalent (with WiFi off, battery life is about the same). The Vox looks to be a better tablet, but the Cruz can be found for < $90 new at lots of places.
