It does have a browser, but can only be used with wi-fi

Strange. I can’t find an answer anywhere to the question posed below by “like to surf the web”. Not one review I’ve read can tell me if the new Kindle Touch 3G offers less than the Kindle Keyboard 3G, i.e free 3G with Internet browser, read & send gmail, yahoo mail, google, any website, even in Canada. Someone told me it will only offer book-buying & access to Wikipedia. Can you pls answer this question?

I like how the nook touch has subtle buttons on the side to use as well as touch.
I don’t have one but trying it out in a store it was quickly apparent how nice it was just to leave you thumb resting there and use it to advance the page with a slight push.
On this kindle you need to lift and tap or swipe.
No big deal but then a march of a thousand miles begins with just one step and carpal tunnel can begin with just one swipe or tap.

Will be interested to see reviews comparing the two devices.
