JVC announced the released of KV-DV50 to be released September in Japan. KV-DV50 is an in-car DVD player that will play more than just DVD, it support DivX files, WMA and MP3s. The disappointing part of this product is it will not support Dual Layer DVD. KV-DV50 will be priced at $250. No news about the availability and pricing of it for North America yet.

I ordered one from a friend in Japan. He’s shipping it to me as this is written. I have alot of new 1080P Divx video, from the diGi-cam & movies I’ve converted as well. this will allow HD content to be played & viewed through a non-HD DVD player, which is awesome in my book. I might have jumped the gun,(a bit) since it will cost my $90 to ship it, but for everything it has, it will allow my & my girl to watch movies on a 24″ Dell LCD I had put in the back of the Escalde (from a roof mount ;) with the rest of the mobile theater ),
in HD without putting a HD dvd player in.. with 1200Watts of surrond sound by Kenwood…We’ll be happy to sit in the back & watch when we take breaks as we travel
