Joybond Watermelon Cooler is Real, We're Not Sure Why

You can't help but laugh at this thing. Because there's a part of you, somewhere deep inside your head, that thinks that maybe this is the best prop for a terrible Sci-Fi movie you've ever seen. But then you'll read that title, see that it's actually real, and you'll probably scratch your head. Or maybe just laugh, scratch your noggin, and then find somewhere that will import this bad boy straight to your doorstep right now.

The Marugoto Tamachan is a portable watermelon cooler. As you can see in the images, there's a bar you can collapse or extend, based on your travelling needs. Oh, and if cooling isn't good enough for you, the Tamachan is also perfectly capable to work as a heater, too. Why? Well, not to heat up your watermelon, of course. But to heat other things, like food that isn't watermelon.

It may just be a watermelon cooler, but it's definitely one of the more interesting pieces of gadgetry we've seen today. And considering its size, it's pretty incredible. Measuring in at only 50.2x35.4x39.2cm, and weighing in at only 6.3kg, this thing is almost small enough to take with you everywhere. So, if you're in Japan, you can get your hands on one right now. Or, you can try to have it imported for a rough $230, and be the coolest person on your block.
