insightful comments, but after 100,000 units, we have never heard of anyone's USB port flipping off their motherboard. I've been using one for 6 years on multiple laptops without a single issue. it's a lightweight speaker and counterbalanced so that it doesn't put inordinate stress on the USB port. Plus, this new model has a kickstand which absorbs most of the vertical weight. it does produce more volume and bass than almost all laptop speakers. most laptops have small, thin mylar drivers while this has a deep, strong paper cone driver about 10 times the depth of most laptop drivers. It's made to be compact and portable, unlike the bigger USB powered speakers on the market.

Good think it's got "Flex" in the name - because the fact that it'll be applying a whole lot of torque to your USB port, it'll flex that right off the mainboard... worst case scenario: laptop toast.

Do NOT put any pressure of this type on your USB ports if you're planning on depending on your laptop for longer than a few weeks.

As for the speaker itself: I doubt that thing produces much more volume or bass than a decent pair of laptop speakers. Volume and bass need size - there are bigger, better USB powered speakers that provide more of both while putting less idiotic strain on the USB ports.
