When it comes to most games and accessories for the PS3 and PSP, Japan usually gets first dibs, while the rest of the world waits around. However, in the case of Skype support for the PSP,  Japan is still waiting around on it. Don’t worry though, they’re finally getting it later this month.

Skype for PSP

According to Sony, Japanese users will see the update rolled out on March 18. The reason it was delayed was because it failed their certification tests. Apparently they’ve gotten it up to snuff.

Sony has also confirmed that they will be releasing a USB microphone for the PSP that is designed to work well with Skype. It’ll run you 2,500 Yen.

Hey, why do all of these websites keep saying that Japan is going to get it, THEN us. I live in Ohio, US and I have had Skype for a couple of weeks.

I think you may have mis-read, I never said that Japan is getting it before us. I said that is usually the case with most things related to the PSP and PS3, but this is an exception.
