Just one day before the Let’s Rock event (and our live event coverage) and Apple has gone and slipped up. It seems one savvy person went to upgrade to iTunes 7 on a Windows XP Pro-running computer and discovered that the download button was shifted on the iTunes website.

However, this was not just a formatting error. Rather, the URL led to a download of iTunes 8.0! And sure enough, this update is, according to the downloader, “a HUGE upgrade.”

The downloaded version was apparently an 8.0 Release Candidate, but this is still a rather big mistake. We will be seeing the real version tomorrow but someone over at Apple made a link live just a little too early. If you travel to the via link, you should find a tasty download sure to satisfy you until tomorrow’ official release.
