I bought the Beatbox Portable and like the sound quality. It’s certainly better than the sound I’ve heard from any comparably sized boombox. I don’t like the Dre headphones though. All that bass so close to my ears gives me a headache. I prefer the Bose headphones to the Dre the Beats any day. However, I am wondering if the original Beatbox had more watts and better sound quality than the new portable version? I like the portable version since it is portable, but I’m looking for even more sound to replace my home stereo. The Beatbox Portable is good, but not good enough in that respect.

the love of money.loud teenagers :P, nice case for good mono record enjoyment, is that telephone compatible with mi loss-less mono hard day’s night wavpack file!! .Mr Dr Dre over compressed sound and american idol withe noise mixes far from hi-fi. :)

“Unbelievably bad”?! You MUST be kidding. The Beats earphones that came with the rezound don’t just sound good with the rezound, but VERY good. They don’t sacrifice deep bass in order to achieve crisp highs and good sound seperation like the vast majority of earphones do. They sound just about as good as any over-the-ear headphones that i’ve tried from Bose, koss, and even Sennhieser. The only reason i could see somebody disliking the earphones that came with the rezound is if they just prefer their music to sound flat…Beats products are WAY over priced though.

…and jumped right to the comments. Have you had extended listening sessions with the beats headphones? I have. They aren’t my favorites at that price point, and you’re certainly paying for the style and the brand — but they do sound good.

If you don’t care about audio quality at all, why would you read an entire article on the subject and then comment? You think that $20 is all you need to spend to get “good enough” audio quality. Hey, you’re entitled to your opinion. You’re wrong, but you’re entitled to it. :)

Uh, yes. I’ve tested many Sennheiser headphones over the years. Some sound better than beats. Some do not – especially if you like the EQ curve that beats applies.

As soon as I saw good sound, I stopped reading. I agree with Haris, Sennheiser are much better as are Ultrasones, Beyerdynamic, AudioTechnica and Denon just to name a few. Not to mention for less money. The only reason these are selling so well is because Monster is advertising and marketing them so effectively.

Iovine wasn’t crying about degraded sound quality til he could make money off of it. Sorry dude, My 5 year old Bose desktop speaker still kicks your products’ asses anyday. The Rezound was unbelievably bad with Beats and this product above is no greater. Good luck to HTC, but they might want to get their $300 million back. F*ckin waste

Forget the speaker. And forget Beats otherwise. Spend about 20 bucks on ear buds and spend the rest of your money on other stuff. Ear Buds are way over hyped and over marketed.

One of Monster’s signatures and mantra is to play loud without distortion on its Beats designed audio products. access to thise huge tv placements is a plus to bring audio speakers to the masses. it is a worthy combination even if audiophiles scoff at it. but to dumb down the consumer on “good enough” is not where the industry needs to be. i am glad there is a push here.
