I think this only applies to Torrents. The *initial* belief is that the usual copyright mafia of agencies who are outsourced by the RIAA will report the violations to the ISPs and it will go from there.

This is simply a mutation of Comcast's throttling of Bit Torrent users which they have been doing for the over the past 2 years.

The worst part of this is no one seems to be paying attention to it. Not even the Internet lobby (Google, Facebook,et al). They willingfully took down SOPA, however this ISP copyright program has been in the works since July 2011. A full 6 months before SOPA exploded.

I gotta say... this sucks.

They are already doing it. Time Warner shut off my connection. I tried to figure out why because I don't pirate movies or music. My sister is staying with me for a few months, and it turns out they shut off my connection because she was watching Youtube on her laptop. There was apparently some copyrighted material on youtube which has since been pulled off.

I gotta say... it pisses me off to have my connection turned off (it's now back on) for watching youtube! And then beyond that, I get sent the warnings and penalized when I didn't do anything wrong. That's just bogus tbh... at least send the messages to the appropriate mac address. I can't possibly control what other people do on my wifi connection, even if I restrict access to just a few.

When are they going to give up? They will not win the battle against pirates. They can try, spend millions on different software and approaches but pirates will always have their way. Take down Pirate Bay servers, they make drones.
