Not sure it'll be a game changer, but it might make Motorola a viable choice for people. I just want a device with as close to neutral Jelly Bean as possible, no home button, a removable battery and enough speed to run Jelly Bean smoothly. That's all really. Currently only the Nexus really gets me there, but it would be nice to have a choice of a few different phones. These are all such basic, standard, well liked features I don't get why there aren't more phones with them.

Hi James ,
Android 4.2 will.bring project roadrunner which will increase the battery.life so in future battery life is going to improve provided HTC provide with the update .
Note: This is still a rumour but most likely to be true .

I agree with the motorola love. the new razr lineup, especially the M, looks to be gamechanging. The M is in my opinion the Nexus 7 of smartphones: nonbudget specs on a budget device. $50 wirefly.

I stick to Samsung these days but it's not tunnel vision, they've just been better recently.

Back in the day, HTC were great; I loved my Legend, it was built so well and was such a nice phone to hold. The software was pretty good but it just didn't have enough internal memory for apps which is why I sold it.

The S2 was when Samsung took over though...it was just better than the Sensation. It was faster, had more RAM, had plenty of internal memory and a better screen. It was pretty close though but the S2 won out as Touchwiz was just lighter than Sense...with only 768mb RAM running sense just took up too much of that, nice as it looks.

Since then, I do like HTC phones but removable batteries are quite a major feature for me and I'd consider it a big bonus when buying a phone. Ultimately, I think they'd be better just getting rid of Sense. Since using plain Android I would never go back. I prefer the look of plain JB over anything and although Sense does look better than Touchwiz neither are as good as plain JB.

I think Motorola are going to start looking more and more interesting as their skin is VERY light and is just a few extra widgets on top of plain JB.

Want to make the phone more popular? Drop Sense. Use all of the Google services and software as they intended them to be used and almost as important as everything else make sure the phone updates on/in a timely fashion.

Nice article, I agree HTC needs to push the boundaries to start making up some ground on Samsung. I love my One X, the only issue I have is the battery life. Consumers currently seem to have tunnel vision and are hesitant to stray from Apple or Samsung. The One X+ looks like it will be the best phone on the market but will that be enough? It has better looks than the SIII/Note 2, and it has much better hardware than the iPhone 5. HTC need to get people excited again like they did for the Desire. They have the hardware (X, S and X+ are all brilliant) and hopefully Sense 4+ will give them that special something again.
