If you’re wondering when Gears of War 2 will be hitting stores, It’s entirely possible that Epic has already released the date. Go ahead, go check out the official Gears of War site. Then look closely at the dog tags on the splash page.
If you look carefully, you’ll find the numbers 033-116-117-126-071 written on one of the dog tags. While those digits may not seem significant, if you translate them into ASCII, you get ESC-N-O-V-9. Could the game be “escaping” on November 9th?
It seems like a pretty sneaky way to reveal a launch date, but I really wouldn’t put it past them. We’ll likely hear some sort of official announcement during E3.
