iRiver’s SPINN PMP was first spotted back in January, but only now has been tipped for release by the company.  Available in Korea now, with a UK launch in August, the flash-based media player features a 3.3-inch AMOLED touchscreen, DMB mobile TV and, of course, the analogue control wheel that gives the SPINN its name.

Format support includes MP3, WMA, OGG, FLAC and ASF on the audio side, together with MPEG4, WM9 and WMV video, and there’s also Flash video and gaming together with a photo browser.  Headphones can be wired or wireless, courtesy of built-in Bluetooth, and storage options so far are 4GB and 8GB; no sign of the 16GB version mentioned at CES 2008.

Korean iRiver fans can pick one up now, at 259000 Won ($257 or £130)for the 4GB or 299000 Won ($296 or £150) for the 8GB.  That pricing is likely to change before the SPINN arrives in the UK, however; availability elsewhere is unconfirmed.

There’s a new SPINN microsite here.

I love Iriver products the only negative thing about them is the storage. I have the Iriver Clix second generation and it’s amazing with an 8 GB of storage. I think Iriver needs to up there storage capacity. I thought the Spinn was coming in a 16 GB? If it does I’m all over it.
