POWER+HOME does work, but you need to hold them for 6-7 seconds (maybe longer).

Mine also froze but the power + home worked just fine.

For the users experiencing issues with the freezes: there might be another explanation. I have an iriver Story (the old one, without touch and with keyboard) and I encountered this kind of issue. In fact, the device didn’t froze; it just ran out of power and due to the way the e-ink display works, the last image remained on the screen. Try to plug the device in the charger for a while and see if it “unfreezes”…

I am experiencing the same problem as the poster as Serg. Reset doesn’t work and my iriver is hung-up. Looks like a trip to the service center. What a shame when all these tablet PCs are coming out now.

I have used this reader for 3 days and had to return it to the shop. The device has one serious flaw – it doesn’t have a reset button. My device hung while reading a book in djvu format. I was not able to reset it or turn the power off. The manual states that the button combination POWER+HOME resets the device. That didn’t work for me. I was not in the mood for dismantling a brand-new gadget to disconnect it from the power so I took it back to the shop and was given a refund.
