It’s just a technicality. Saying “Persian Spring” sounds stupid, like some kind of an accessory for a Persian Rug.

I’d say that probably has to do with us not hearing about it. Keep in mind that when things happen in a somewhat local setting, we don’t all hear about it. If we did, we’d be upset. But the local people have to make it a more well-known issue. It’s not about protecting piracy. It’s about protecting rights. And we’ll speak out about it whenever and wherever we can, if we know such a problem exists.

Let’s talk about China stealing our movies, music and software and lets talk about where were all these anti SOPA people when Arizona just passed the “anti internet annoyance bill” that was much much more of a freedom of speech issue. It just proves the anti SOPA people were pro movie, music and software theft and the “Freedom of speech” issue was a complete lie to justify illegal acts.

Oh Islam you’re so funny. Removing the most important aspect about something that makes it useful or important.
Camera pictures of 7 females when you can only see their eyes (are they female? we don’t know now ha ha). Removing the females rights part in the word humanity. Removing the childhood part from young female children being forced to marry. Removing the victim part from a rape victim by throwing her in jail. Removing the government part from government by making it religious. And removing what we all know is the best part about getting stoned – pot.

Will you never stop? I always thought thighing meant something about dipping chicken parts in sauces. Imagine my horror when I googled it and found out that you oggle it.

And when I heard you were turning the Afghan policewoman into prostitutes and madams I thought you’re not trying to remove the “police” part from the career, I thought maybe people just saw the new women rookies running for morning coffee and/or snacks ha ha. But I was wrong.

And when I found out you went on marches and protests and murdered people because someone made a mistake and burned some dead prisoner’s korans/belongings thinking they were trash and insulting since they were written in. I thought, “no it’s not that nutty Islam again is it?”

I see that the story with the same headline has now changed to point out the fact that the original story of Iran was going to cut itself off from internet was completely bogus- planted, fooled the media, once more.

Curious that I posted the comment to alert the readership to this fact and it was censored by the moderator!

Our version of SOPA here in Canada was called “Protect children from internet predators act.” Going the same angle as the very unpatriotic “Patriot act.” After they proposed that bill in Canada, when someone said they disagree with it, they were accused of supporting pedophiles/etc…

It’s just ridiculous. We don’t need any more government than we already do. We are turning into the countries and dictatorships that we hate.

Here in the US if you want a bill to pass into law just have the right name and a few key words of fear thrown into it. “Free puppies for children to protect them from online offenders and welfare increase bill for minorities bill” = The Constitution and Bill of Rights becomes a suggestion and privlage and not given rights.

Apparently Iranian officials said that news article was an april 1st joke and they have no plans to cut off access to the www. Now let’s get back to talking about sopa/pipa/cista in the states, and the canadian bill c30 (named “protecting children from online predators act” to get more support from people who know nothing about it) and all of their new forms.

Sounds like it’ll be loads of fun for Iranian users. The primary reason, IMHO, is to make it easy for the internal security forces to round up dissidents and to prevent groups from organizing protests or creating an Arab Spring in Iran.

Without a means of rapid communication, it is virtually impossible to coordinate the overthrow of a dysfunctional government.
