Man, HTC is going to be pissed. Meanwhile, the rest of the world will be excited. Steve just unveiled the iPod Touch. You know, sometimes I wish I didn’t hear all of these rumors ahead of time, then I’d probably be even more excited when he lifts the curtain on these things.

The iPod Touch looks awesome. We’re getting the same multi-touch interface that we love on the iPhone like the Home screen, as well as some of the apps like Calender, Clock and Contacts. The big story though is WiFi. The iPod finally has WiFi. On a screen that sexy, you know that they had to include the web browser, and even YouTube.
With WiFi on the iPod, we’re going to need a way to download our music wirelessly, right? Well Steve also slipped in an announcement for the new iTunes WiFi Music Store. Finally, we’ve been waiting for it since the iPhone came out.

The iPod Touch looks strikingly like the iPhone, which is pretty much what we all expected. We can expect up to 22 hours of battery life from audio, and around 5 hours watching video. They’ve got two flavors, 8GB and 16GB. The smaller one will set you back $299, and the larger will be $399. Look for them in stores this month.

I don’t know… but with things like the OpenMoko and me not wanting to pay for a device that doesn’t work with my computer. I just don’t think it is what I want.
