You have forgot to factor in that your iPod Video used a HDD based storage medium. The iPod Touch (and nano and shuffle) uses an exceedingly more expensive flash based memory. For flash memory, 64GB is a lot. 128 GB, now that’s getting expensive (though I would love for them to do this with the next iPod Touch). This is also the reason why this iPod touch is very thin. If you want more capacity, there is something called an iPod Classic which uses a HDD based storage medium (but who buys those anymore anyway?).

Removable storage would have solved that problem, but microSD cards are a no-no for Apple. That, and the lack of HDMI output are the only drawbacks of the hardware of the new iPod, IMO.

What about the capacity? Only 64GB? My iPod Video was 60GB and it came out in 2005. So capacity wise we are 5 years back in time. Time travelling not possible?
