Have you been holding off on purchasing that shiny new Apple iPhone until someone figures out how to unlock it? While that day isn’t exactly here yet, a major milestone has been achieved.

iPhone on AT&T

By using a new piece of software called iASign you can pop in any AT&T SIM card and have it work with the iPhone. For those wondering, that does include a Go Phone SIM card. There are, of course, some drawbacks to this hack. You will need to be using a Mac, and it’s a fairly complicated process.

The team is currently working on a Windows version of the software, as well as a GUI. This doesn’t mean that they’ve given up on completely unlocking the iPhone, this is just one milestone in the road.
