iPhone owners less likely to need a replacement device

Smartphones are expensive so many of the people that buy them opt for protection for their device. That protection runs the gamut from cases and screen protectors up to replacement insurance that will give the owner a new phone at a reduced rater if the original is lost, broken, or stolen. One of the companies that offer insurance is called ProtectCELL.

ProtectCELL has offered up some insight into what sort of devices it replaces most often for the people it insures. It appears that iPhone users take better care of their devices than users on other platforms. According to the company data, iPhone users are about 46% less likely to need a replacement device than other device users.

The data shows that the iPhone user is 46% less likely to need that replacement device for any reason. The numbers come from data taken from the 2 million plans the company has sold to protect devices. While the iPhone users are apparently less likely to break their iPhone, they are more likely to lose them.

ProtectCELL data shows that the iPhone user is 65% more likely to request a replacement device because their smartphone was lost. Tablet users are becoming much more likely to request a replacement device according to the company with tablet owners in 2013 90% more likely to request a replacement device than tablet owners were in 2012.
