Shall we discuss Samsung’s apparent patent on the 3.5mm headphone jack described as an “external audio port”?

Also, the Sony patent for turning the screen…that itself has to do with a gyroscope in the iPhone. Sony tried the same patent for suing Nintendo over the Wii Remote motion control system….guess what….Sony lost.

Apple has been selling computers since the mid 1970′s and the Macintosh has been with us since 1984. Apple made the first user friendly PC in the Macintosh in 1984 when most PC’s at the time used DOS.

The difference between the Sony MP3 walkman multimedia player and the iPod is that the iPod had a moving parts hard drive on it and lacked DRM injecting software when you ripped your CD’s with iTunes.

The iPhone was the first well programmed smart phone, had and still has one of the most powerful graphics chipsets in the market, and was the first to use actual smooth graphics and a sensitive touch screen that neither ass dialed nor required a stylus.

As for the laptops, maybe you should look at the PowerBook series before PowerPC went into their laptops…we owe it to Apple that the keyboard is closer to the screen making it easier to type on them.

Yeah, Apple wasn’t the first, but they did at least make improvements to their devices on their own.

As an android fan, I say: These patents sound stupid and obvious. The patent trolling needs to stop.

Lets hope they get Apple products banned.. it’s karma. And just to be clear, its not that I want Apple products to be banned, it’s that I want Apple to forced to stop trying to kill competition.

Ok, so Apple fans would usually start yelling that Apple is being trolled. Android fans would yip and hurray over Apple getting bit by the hand that feeds it. I say burn every single bit of patent legislation relating to modern technology and start over. This is truly getting out of hand. How can you make a phone without the ability to accept or deny a call? Admittedly that patent should belong to Motorola(unless they sold it) but who cares it’s a standard and should be burned with the rest of the garbage.

Good, it’s a capitalist market after all, and Apple’s not the only gorilla that can play the patent game. Of course, it doesn’t help that the USPTO is staffed by bitter old men rubber-stamping anything that comes their way just waiting for the carnage that always follows.

Originals: Sony walkman, Nokia cell phones, Palm treo, PC, Laptops…..all existed b4 the almighty apple. They just spruce it up and overcharge the suckers by 40-65% compared to what’s already available. just like their overinflated stock and the egos of their primary consumer.
