As someone who has played with about every smartphone under the sun, there are a lot of phones I would pick up before I pick up an iPhone.

From the iPhone users around me, literally, NONE of them even looked at other phones. It was a strait beeline to the iPhone. There friends have iPhones and they want to fit into the group.

Literally, like sheep.

Ironically, the ones who did look at other phones, besides the iPhone, ended up getting a non-iPhone. (Windows powered or Android powered).

The iPhone is a good phone, but there are a lot that are equal, if not better.

But over and over, it seems that people are more interested in getting what their friends want, than what is the (best) for them.

It probably dosen't help that I see families over and over who won't pay for a quality phone, yet are more than willing to drop $200 per iPhone for their whole family. "We only pick up free phones." and then iPhone comes along and they throw $800 ever 2 years to get everybody an iPhone. Show them another smartphone and they claim that it should be free and they won't spend $100 for it.
