iPhone 6 said to bring 100,000 new employees to Foxconn

The iWatch and iPhone 6 are expected to be huge (pun intended), with many analysts considering massive sales on launch. To that, a few known Apple manufacturing partners are said to be ramping up their workforce in a big way. We've already heard they'd be bulking up, but not like this.

Foxconn, the plant where your iPhone likely came from, is reportedly adding 100,000 staff members. Economic Daily, a news agency based out of Taiwan, notes it's their biggest single hiring event ever.

Similarly, Pegatron — who have been noted as seeing piece of the iPhone 6 pie — are said to be boosting their workforce by about 30%. The company reportedly did the same last year, when they were tapped to produce the iPhone 5C. Oddly enough, Pegatron is also rumored to get 30% of new iPhone production responsibilities.

If the hiring sprees are accurate, it's the right timeframe. Both plants are likely starting work on the new iPhone(s) now, set for release in the Fall. A larger 4.7-inch screen is said to be the workhorse of the new iPhone lineup, with an even bigger 5.5-inch variant coming shortly after. The 4-inch screen size is also said to be coming, but the attention is on the 4.7-inch model.
