Everybody makes stuff up. If it happens to be right then you can say I told you so. If your guess is not right then what?? The truth is No one knows what’s gonna happen. The fact is 4G chips consume a lot of energy as of now. Unless they come up with a better chip or better battery, we won’t see a 4G iPhone anytime soon(this is for June bugs). Fall 2012 even seems too soon but possible. Sometime in 2013 is more likely. This is apple people, they would rather not release an new phone than release something with a sh.tty battery life.

Why do people say iPhone 5? It should be either iPhone 4G or iPhone 6.

Original iPhone: iPhone
2nd gen: iPhone 3G
3rd gen: iPhone 3GS
4th gen: iPhone 4 (hence 4th gen)
5th gen: iPhone 4S
6th gen: iPhone 4G or iPhone 6

I read somewhere last year that they were about to release a 5 instead of the 4S crapola but had battery issues with the LTE chip not lasting long or fitting properly enough so they had to use their back up plan which was releasing the 4S instead to get people by that had the 3GS coming off contract. So they could have more time on design changes. If they dont release a 5 in June many people that had and have the 4 that wanted the 5 last fall will jump ship to much better phones this Summer. Like me.

It should still be the iPhone 6 though, it’s the 6th generation of iPhone. I see no reason to name it the iPhone 5.

Why would it release exclusively? There’s no way any of them would pay for a few months of it, it’s not worth it.

And a September release is more than enough time to get accessories ready, as the only thing to update or change would be cases, and those can be hammered out in no time.

And btw, it’s 4S, not 4GS lol

Apple was well into work on the iPhone5 when the 4GS was launched. By product launch history, and to give second-party accessories time to update before the holiday season, I would say June is the release month.

It would be interesting if the 5G launched in June on one carrier exclusively (like Sprint USA wants), and then releases to the other carriers months later.

I read on TechzTalk that these rumors about october iPhone 5 launch are wrong, as they all are based on delay caused by second gen LTE chip. However Qualcomm is starting mass production of LTE chip in April so why will Apple wait 6 months to get that chip.

Not sure why people would believe for a second it would be released in June. There’s no way they would release it in 8 months when it took them 16 months for the 4S. I will be completely amazed and surprised if they do, but I highly doubt a release until no earlier than the same time the 4S was released.
