Because low income families can afford Androids “cheap ass” phones. Android is spreading itself too thin in the market share and their quality is suffering.

It’s only the biggest because it’s the cheapest – not cause it’s the best. Don’t confuse price with quality. Many android users get hosed cause their phones are slow and never get any of the new updates even thought their phone isn’t that old.

Yes. This person is clearly an idiot for stating his opinion on relative user experiences between two mobile operating systems. That is the obvious conclusion. It’s similarly astute to mention market share as an indicator of the inanity of his remarks. I am a Windows/Microsoft software developer and admit that I do prefer the latest “tech”. Lately my mindset has been changing and I want a phone that just “Works”.

If a new iPhone comes out in October, I will be buying it. It’s ok if the insides are months old instead of days because I want Apps and I want Functionality with no errors. Android is so segmented that the “User Experience” on “Superior Hardware” is lacking.

While most technical people like myself can customize, program and hack their phones to do really cool things I prefer to not think about that when I’m rocking out on Angry Birds.

Iphone and apple are playing catch up in the smartphone market now. They are the last to have dual core processors, screen size over 4 inches, OTA updates to the OS, yadayada. When the iphone 5 comes out its specs will be similar to the GalaxyS 2 – a phone that’s already 8 months old..
