That being said, I have to say this was not a miscalculation buy apple at all. Clearly, Sprint sold out of them and are still sold out at this point in time. If anything, the only miscalculation they made was not giving Sprint more iphones.

With the release of the 4s, and it’s dual core, 8 megapixel camera, and revolutionary siri application (that somend android developers don’t seem to get it is actually quite complex, in that the application references not only its own very robust AI database, but also references your text messages, your emails, your current GPS location, your past GPS locations, your search history, your browser history, and randomly takes pictures from your camera phone throughout your day to reference those as well, so that she can discern via contextual data, what you mean by what you are saying with very little input from you ( PS: I’m kidding about the random pictures).

So, having historically been (and still am) an android power use, this release of the iphone cost me to set up and take notice. I was finally intrigued, and then was pretty amazed to see comment of many iphone users stating they were less than impressed.

It was then that I realized the difference between many iphone users and many android users. Many iphone users apparently just want fun things, colorful things, rounded corners. But notice all of the things that the iphone 4S brought to the table as new: utilitarian, practical, applicable to power users ( right down android users alley) .

Don’t get me wrong, it’s still an apple product, but my point is the very things that made me, an ardent android power user, stand up and take notice, barely made an impression upon a lot of standard iphone users who just said ‘ meh’.

And again, I’d be hard pressed to say they screwed up when sprint sold out so fast. I think they have metered it out for when they release the 5.
