Do you know What I fear most in life? Its them Goddamn Paradign Shifts (the discomfort one feels when a ‘tried and true’ modality disappears as being obsolete and culturally irrelavant). Remember when, if you needed to obtain information FAST, you cracked open the Encyclopedia Britainica? Of if you needed to look up some facts for a bar bet—you went to a Teak coloured cabinet, opened up a box of drawers and thumbed through cards quickly because you MASTERED THE DEWEY DECIMAL SYSTEM?!!!
Now it is the same with Cell Phones and Cell Phone Providers & their ‘wuddle’ contracts!!! What is a ‘CELL’ Phone? It is a mobile Telecommunications device you can make calls from (and other things). What is ‘Mobile’ telecommunications? They are devices that let you communication while you are on the go. QUESTION: So if you can’t talk and drive (in California), its not really a ‘Mobile telecommunications device’—you are essentually TETHERED who whatever place you want to plott your butt down at-like a Cafe ‘Hotspot’? Right?!!!
So, like, IF the protocol hiarachy of signal reception is WIFI first, then 4G, then 3G then EDGE, then GPRS, IF you can make phone calls & Surf the Web at your HOTSPOT like I do (cause, like you can’t talk & drive anymore) AND IF you don’t need a cell phone provider to make WIFI connections—why not accept WIFI ‘Tethering’ as a fact, do all your surfing and calling from WIFI hotspots and NOT use a Cell Phone Provider? But how do you make phone calls without a carrier from a WIFI hotspot? Dude, like when did they thaw you out from the ICEPACK? Like you never heard of VOIP (Voice over Internet Protocol)? Simply download a VOIP app and make all your phone calls from WIFI hotspots!!! Ohhhh Yeahhhhh!!! Cell Phone Companies and there miserable ‘lock you in for 2 years’ contracts—don’t you just hate them Paradigm Shifts?!!!

wonder if this is the TRUE world phone that Tim Cook was touting during the keynote – unlockrd, and can be used on any cdma and gsm network. The Verizon iPhone does not work with Domestic US GSM carriers and the ATT iPhone will never work with a CDMA carrier.
With an unsubsidized price,one would think that the user cam get all that he pays for in the iPhone.
