No. Apple bought Siri, spent 2 years upgrading it and then released something a thousand times more powerful than the Siri app. I’ve used the app. It was hardly more than google voice search.

Siri was available in the app store to everyone before they noticed it it, took it down and claimed it as theirs!

After siri was anounced, another app doing the exact same thing as siri appeard on the app store for maybe a week and apple also took it down.

I give credit to apple for all that they have done, but in this case it’s the only leverage that they can enforce to make people believe that the iPhone4S is special in any way so that they are willing to buy it!

If that were the case it would also be available on the iPad 2 which have the same Chip and isn’t inferior in that regard!

It’s just a curtain that they are pulling over your eyes! But those who are willing to peek beneath it are already seeing the truth!

The a4 is the third fastest processor in the mobile space (behind the a5 and exonys.) The idea that it can’t handle the UI rendering and transmission of data to a server for analysis is not only wrong, it’s insulting to those of us with an actual functioning brain.

No droid-tard here, 4 year iPhone owner, and yes, this is fragmentation. Siri is a feature that new developers will eventually get access too. The 4S also has a superior GPU so unified games won’t be possible with the 4 and 3GS.

Face it, while fragmentation isn’t as bad on Apple due to the limited number of handsets it very much exists. Stop acting like Apple is perfect, they’re not.

Or we as consumers can actually NOT buy the phone as a message to companies like Apple that we don’t appreciate being jerked around just so they can add more money to the top of their 40 BILLION dollar pile of cash they have. But that’d be too much for the masses to comprehend.

Keep drinking the kool-aid that Apple had to do this. Just like they couldn’t enable backgrounds for the original iPhone in iOS3. Yeah, performance issues.

Note: I own an iPhone 4 so no Android fanboy here.

This is trolling to the next level. It’s basically a bad UI port, no more. I think that nobody has ever said that what made Siri exclusive to 4S was is UI. What makes it exclusive to 4S is the speech recognition software, and the additional things that the phone has to do before sending messages to the server. In that regard, Thd video shows absolutely nothing.

Why do a beta on a new product launch? Why not do a beta on an existing handset with limited users as to not overflow the system? Im sure with apples cash its r&d costs wont hurt them in the least… Just a thought not to argue :-)

This isnt rocket science… R&d costs money, just as giant data centers do.. the profits of a 4s cover the cost.

It’s also in beta. 2 million new 4s is a beta, 20 million existing 4′s is a deluge.

Common sense is involved here.. just loft your perspective slightly folks..
